How to fix a PF22.2 Foam Cannon that is not generating foam.

The PF 22.2 is a very easy foam cannon to repair when foam is not being generated. There are typically three areas that can cause foam failure. The most common is the stainless-steel filter that is located at the nozzle of the foam cannon. Below are directions on how to access the filter and change it out.

  • 1. Locate the stainless-steel pin that holds the gray and black cover on to the foam cannon.
  • 2.Gently tap this pin through its hole using a small screwdriver, nail or other tool. Once is is far enough through, you can use a pair of pliers on the back side to pull it the rest of the way out.
  • 3.Carefully remove the gray and black cover being sure to not lose the 3 internal parts. The white cone, a black O-ring and the stainless-steel filter. Sometimes the filter does not fall out. You may gently push it out using the same tool you used to push the pin out.
  • 4.Replace the filter with a new filter. Be sure to push the new filter into place. Failure to do so will prevent you from being able to push the nozzle back together.
  • 5.Replace the O-ring over the white cone and place it back in the nozzle housing. The flat side of the cone should be against the filter.
  • 6.Slide the nozzle back onto the rest of the foam cannon and push it together so that the pin can go back through its hole. If you do not have the gray and black nozzle all the way to the metal housing, the pin will not go all the way through, and you can damage the foam cannon if you force it.

The 2nd most common area for a clog is at the inlet of the foam cannon. There is a small orifice that helps to create the Venturi vacuum that pulls the soap for the bottle. To access this orifice, you will need to remove your quick connect plug. You will then be able to use a flat bladed screw driver to remove the orifice. Once removed, use a pick or paper Clip to clear out the hole. When held up to light you should see a nice round hole for the water to flow through.

The last area for a clog is in the pickup tube in the bottle. This includes the barb area that the tube connects to. It is best to remove the hose and check it for clogs. There may also be a clog in the foam cannon inside the barb. You can use compressed air to blow this out. While you have the nozzle portion of the cannon broke down, stick your air nozzle in the metal head of the cannon and blow air so that it is flowing backwards through the cannon. This should blow out any stuck debris.
